Noah Kellman Artwork

Since 2022, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with jazz musician and composer Noah Kellman on artwork for several of his releases. Featured here are a selection of original pieces—many of which were also animated for use across streaming platforms and social media.

“Stereoman” is the main artwork for Noah Kellman’s 2026 release Pictures at Parties. Built from a collection of vintage imagery I gathered, scanned, and assembled digitally, the collage is anchored by an original illustration of an old-school boombox brought to life. The piece was designed with animation in mind, allowing each small “micro-world” within the artwork to be explored through stills and motion graphics across multiple single releases.

Once the hero collage was complete, I prepped the artwork's layers in Photoshop for animation and imported it into After Effects. Multiple versions were created to support different platforms, including YouTube (1920×1080, 30-sec. loops) and Spotify Canvas (1080×1920, 8-sec. loops), giving the artist flexibility to promote across streaming and social channels.

Merch DESIGNS

Translating the collages into apparel was a rewarding challenge that allowed for new interpretations of the artwork. We landed on two primary designs utilizing the Owls and Moth artwork from the album art. Two colorways were chosen for the Moth artwork, and more product designs are planned for the future.

For Noah’s single Ambrosia, the artwork began as a scan from an older collage / painting. I revisited the piece and introduced new elements to give it fresh energy. The imagery reflects themes of travel and self-discovery—capturing the tension between excitement and danger found in unfamiliar landscapes.

Dream Cycles was the first album artwork I created for Noah. It began as a sketch based on a photo of him, illustrated as a recognizable silhouette. As a proof of concept, I filled the silhouette with a painting I had made on scrap cardboard with my kids—never intending it to be final artwork. The piece resonated immediately, and we chose to keep it. Sometimes the first idea really is the right one.

For the singles, the album art evolved through new textures, imagery, video elements, and animation, and I had the opportunity to explore new visual ideas that were inspired by each piece of music.

For the lead single, Dream Cycles, we intentionally moved away from the silhouette approach. An early sketch combining surreal collage and hand-drawn elements quickly stood out, and I refined it into the final artwork shown here. That visual direction was especially well received and later influenced future album artwork as well.
