Elevate Maryland is a podcast that explores the policies, people, and stories that affect the state of Maryland. With over 100 podcasts to date, show founders and hosts Candace Dodson Reed and Tom Coale talk to newsmakers and everyday people in order to elevate the conversation and find out what matters most in their communities.

For this project, I aimed to create a simple yet bold logo that highlights the podcast title and features the Maryland flag (perhaps the most popular symbol of our state). I opted for a slanted approach to the text and graphics so that it continued the theme of “elevation” and gave a sense of forwarding momentum. As always with logo projects, I make sure that I focus on achieving legibility – even at the smallest of sizes – since this logo would appear on users’ computers, phones, and more small screens as they listened along to the great stories and discussions that Candace and Tom host.
