Baltimore Ravens 25th Season: Logo, Identity & Illustration

Logo & Identity:

For the Ravens’ 25th season, I designed a special anniversary logo that would be used throughout the season and across the NFL to celebrate the team’s incredible 25 seasons of football in Baltimore. Taking cues from past anniversary season logos (10th, 15th, 20th), I used large roman numerals to represent 25 (XXV) in a type that I customized to more closely resemble the team’s brand font (Blak). We also included 2 stars in the logo just below the “25 Seasons” banner to symbolize the 2 World Championships that the Ravens have won in their 25-year history. Although the season was unlike any other that we had ever experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was still a very memorable season, and it was especially exciting to see the logo appear all over the city and even on a limited-release sparkling white wine from partner Mano’s Wines!

25th Season Gameday Covers:

In addition to working on the Ravens’ 25th season logo and identity, I had the pleasure of conceiving, illustrating, and designing the Gameday program covers for all the team’s home games at M&T Bank Stadium.

The pitch focused on showcasing the incredible talent that had played for the team over its 25 years of history. Using action photos from past games as a reference, I illustrated each player in Procreate and Photoshop and collaborated with the Ravens PR team to highlight their outstanding achievements. One challenge I really enjoyed was researching each era’s uniforms and helmets, as I wanted to include as much detail and accuracy as possible (after all, that’s what the fans expect). Overall the project was very well received by the fans, including the weekly posts on social that featured the cover images, and the Ravens legends even enjoyed them as well, which is the ultimate compliment.
